Mechanical Walker in Blender
A six-legged mechanical walker rebuilt from a tutorial into a game-ready asset.
I started from Polyfjord’s tutorial and rebuilt the walker into a game-ready asset:
- Re-authored joints with a tighter poly budget and mirrored UVs before duplication.
- Converted curves to meshes, weight-painted the cabling, and maintained clean normals for export.
- Exported disciplined texture sets (five 1K albedo maps) ready for Unity lighting.

The final looped walk cycle balances stylised motion with production constraints—~200k tris, tidy normals, and materials that drop cleanly into a realtime pipeline.
